Official: Russia’s Rosneft wants govt to ensure Zvezda’s margins
MOSCOW, Aug 4 (PRIME) -- Russian oil major Rosneft wants the government to ensure profitability of its Zvezda shipyard, Vice President Mikhail Leontyev told PRIME Tuesday.
Earlier on Tuesday, business daily Kommersant reported that Rosneft wants other oil companies to construct ships only at Zvezda. CEO of Rosneft Igor Sechin asked President Vladimir Putin to take steps to stimulate companies to place their orders with the shipyard.
“We need such economic policies that would ensure effectiveness of investments in this project. I do not rule out that ministries can offer better ideas to ensure efficiency of the project,” Leontyev said.
The official said that Zvezda is a non-core investment for Rosneft and that the oil company needs additional sources to finance it.
